Application:
  • Tool to edit NTUSER.DAT
     NTUSER.DAT contains the user's personalized settings for the
     majority of software installed on the computer, including Windows itself.
     With the microsoft tool regedit you can see and change values
     of the currently used ntuser.dat.
     With regedit Pro you can see and change values of a file ntuser.dat,
     which are currently not in use.
     So you can use RegeditPro to change user values in the registry for a logged off user.

Guidance:
  •  Drag ntuser.dat and drop it onto regeditPro to read ntuser.dat with notepad,
     or use the following command-line call:
     regeditpro.exe /option /argument1:"value" /argument2:"value"
  •  regeditpro.exe options:
     1) /notepad ->read ntuser.dat with notepad
     2) /regedit ->open to edit ntuser.dat with regedit
     3) /setkey  ->set a key or value into ntuser.dat
     4) /export  ->export ntuser.dat to a regfile (rootkey will be NTUSERDAT)
     5) /import  ->import regfile to ntuser.dat    (rootkey must be NTUSERDAT)
     
  •  regeditpro.exe arguments (you need one or more arguments for each program option):
     /ntuserdat:"c:\ntuser.dat"     ->file you want to work with
     /keypath:"registrypath"    ->path in registry you want to work with
     /keyname:"keyname"        ->registrykey you want to edit
     /keyvalue:"keyvalue"        ->value you want to set in registrykey
     /keytype:"reg_sz"        ->type (reg_sz,reg_dword,reg_binary or reg_multi_sz)
     /regfile:"path\file.txt"    ->regfile for export or import


Examples:

 1) /notepad
 open ntuser.dat with notepad
 Example:
regeditpro /notepad /ntuserdat:"c:\document and settings\Accountname\ntuser.dat"

 2) /regedit
 open ntuser.dat with regedit and load it to HKEY_USERS/NTUSERDAT
 Example:
regeditpro /regedit /ntuserdat:"c:\document and settings\Accountname\ntuser.dat"

 3) /setkey
 set a registry key into ntuser.dat
 Examples:
regeditpro /setkey /ntuserdat:"c:\profile\Accountname\ntuser.dat" /keypath:"software\path" /keyname:"name" /keyvalue:"value" /keytype:"reg_sz"
regeditpro /setkey /ntuserdat:"c:\profile\Accountname\ntuser.dat" /keypath:"software\path" /keyname:"name" /keyvalue:"value" /keytype:"reg_dword"
regeditpro /setkey /ntuserdat:"c:\profile\Accountname\ntuser.dat" /keypath:"software\path" /keyname:"name" /keyvalue:"value" /keytype:"reg_binary"
regeditpro /setkey /ntuserdat:"c:\profile\Accountname\ntuser.dat" /keypath:"software\path" /keyname:"name" /keyvalue:"value1;value2;value3" /keytype:"reg_multi_sz"

 4) /export
 export a Key from ntuser.dat to a regfile with rootKey NTUSERDAT
 if /keypath:"complete" ntuser.dat with all keys you have got userrights will be exported
 Example:
regeditpro /export /ntuserdat:"c:\profile\Accountname\ntuser.dat" /keypath:"software\microsoft" /regfile:"c:\tmp\export.txt"
regeditpro /export /ntuserdat:"c:\profile\Accountname\ntuser.dat" /keypath:"complete" /regfile:"c:\tmp\export.txt"

 5) /import
 import a regfile with rootKey NTUSERDAT to ntuser.dat
 Example:
regeditpro /import /ntuserdat:"c:\profile\Accountname\ntuser.dat" /regfile:"c:\tmp\import.txt"
